This 1978 Los Angeles Dodgers National League Championship Ring was presented to Bill Russell who turned in yet another standout season for the powerhouse Dodgers as they roared through the National League regular season and upended the Phillies in the NL Playoffs only to lose to their arch-rivals the Yankees in six games in the World Series. Russell's 1978 NL Championship ring features a single diamond set as a baseball motif in the Dodgers logo on the face of a Dodger blue stone with NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONS 1978 encircling the perimeter. A large baseball and crossed bats design with Bill Russell in script and his uniform number 18 adorn one side. The other side has a large LA along with the Dodger pavilion scoreboard displaying the numbers 3.347.845. The Dodgers became the first team in baseball history to draw more than 3000000 fans with 3347845 total attendance during the memorable 1978 season. BALFOUR 14K is stamped on the inside of the Size 9 1/2 ring. Included is an attractive original Balfour blue box with gold metal edging and blue-felt interior; all elements appear to be in essentially as-issued and problem-free condition. Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from Bill Russell.
