Here is a tremendous piece of football history: a match jersey from the 1982 FIFA World All-Star Game between "Europe XI" and "Rest of the World XI" worn by Brazilian international Oscar Bernardi. Played on August 7th at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ ("The Meadowlands") with 76,891 fans on hand, this charity exhibition match benefiting UNICEF finished European 3-2 after an amazing second half comeback. Down 2-0, the European side led by Paolo Rossi, Franz Beckenbauer, and Michel Platini scored three unanswered goals in the final 32 minutes. Pelé was honorary captain for the World side and Oscar started at center-back. This shirt comes from Oscar's personal collection.

The short-sleeve jersey comes in bright kelly green with subtle white pinstripes. It features a white V-neck collar, white trimmed cuffs on the sleeve ends, and Adidas three-stripe detailing in green and white on the shoulders. The Adidas Trefoil logo appears on the left chest across from the official "FIFA World All-Star Game for the Benefit of UNICEF 1982" emblem. The front displays "14" numerals in white outline style. The reverse has "14" in the same format, only larger and in white felt material. Tagged by Adidas within the collar with size and material (50% cotton/ 50% polyester) information, the shirt exhibits proper single-match use with soiling staining on the right sleeve.

The Oscar Bernardi Collection

This shirt comes from the personal collection of José Oscar Bernardi, better known as Oscar, who played for the Brazil National Team from 1977 to 1986. Included is a letter of provenance signed by Oscar. Most jerseys in the collection were obtained directly through player swaps after competition. Others were acquired via gifts or trade with footballers in Oscar’s wide network of teammates and friends. At age 71, he still resides in Brazil and is ready for his collection to be appreciated by others in the hobby.
