These Adidas Superstar green suede shoes are the same pair John Havlicek wore in the last game of his storied NBA career. And he certainly went out with a bang scoring 29 points and leading the Boston Celtics to a 131-114 win over the Buffalo Braves in front of his adoring home fans. With 13 All-Star appearances and 8 NBA titles Havlicek was an easy selection as one of the NBA's 50 Greatest Players. His #17 was retired in 1984 at the Boston Garden and he will forever be one of the most popular Celtics to ever wear the green and white. Here's your chance to own the last pair of game sneakers he ever laced up.
Evidenced in standout game-used condition these incredible keepsakes show strong game use but are offered otherwise problem-free even down to the nap of the notoriously finicky suede leather. The shoestrings are intact and show some of the expected discoloration from the green suede. There is virtually no sign of fraying of the stitching around any of the white stripes or the support areas around the heel as well as minimal cracking of the white stripe leather sections. There is a rather large blood stain on the outside right ankle a typical bi-product of the hustle and intensity with which "Hondo" always displayed on the court. A strong black Sharpie Havlicek autograph appears along the outside right heel.
Comes with a Letter of Authenticity from John Havlicek as well as a hand-written note tagging the game and date worn.
