1) 1979 FIBA World Basketball Championship 1st Place Winner's Gold Medal. USA won the 12-team tournament (held every four years) with a 94-82 victory of host South Korea in the final. The obverse has a raised design showing two women basketball players surrounded by a wreath and "1979 KOREA" at the bottom. "8th WORLD BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FOR WOMEN" is arched around the top section. The reverse appears to depict the outside of a basketball arena perhaps Jangchung Gymnasium in Seoul South Korea where the tournament was played. The medal is gold-plated and comes with a loop setting and colorful ribbon to wear around the neck. All elements are perfectly intact. The medal measures 78 mm in diameter and weighs 240 grams including the ribbon and loop holder. Well-reserved and presents in NM-MT condition. Comes with original wooden presentation box lined in red velvet.
2) 1979 Jones Cup 1st Place Winner's Gold Medal. Coached by Pat Summitt USA went 6-0 to win the 12-team tournament named after Renato William Jones the founding secretary-general of FIBA. Obverse has "R.W. JONES CUP TAIPEI" at top with "1979" at bottom with a raised basketball and hoop design at center. Reverse reads "FIRST PLACE". The medal is coated with a gold-colored material and comes with a loop setting and red white and blue ribbon to wear around neck. 50 mm in diameter and 62 grams. Presents NM-MT. Comes with presentation box (not sure if original).
3) 1976 Hamilton Pre-Olympic Basketball Tournament 1st Place Winner's Gold Medal. USA won the 9-team tournament going 5-0 and beating Bulgaria 76-75 in the final.
One side has "HAMILTON 1976" with Canadian maple leaf and basketball image below. Other side reads "PRE-OLYMPIC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL" with Olympic rings and leaf/hoop/ball emblem at center. Medal is coated in gold-like material (some has chipped off on rim) and comes with a loop setting and red string (Canadian color theme) for wearing around neck. 63 mm in diameter and 80 grams. Presents EX-MT.
4) 1979 Pan-American Games Participant Medallion/Badge. Hoping to repeat as Pan-Am champions USA lost to Cuba in the Finals to take the silver medal. San Juan hosted the tournament."VIII JUEGOS PANAMERICANOS 1979 - SAN JUAN PUERTO RICO" is raised around a large flame image at center. An attached section reading "PARTICIPANTE" holds a 2 1/2" red white and blue ribbon. Diameter 40 mm (2" long) and 34 grams. Presents in Mint condition.
