From the fall of 1974 when she entered UCLA on a basketball scholarship until the late spring of 1978 when she had just led the Lady Bruins to a national title Ann Meyers Drysdale would have been the big "woman" on campus. The 5' 9" standout was a four-time All-American and the first female ever to earn a four-year athletic scholarship to UCLA.
This lot features a pair of UCLA-branded jackets Meyers Drysdale wore during her tenure with the Bruins. The first a powder blue nylon button-down wind-breaker is sporting a yellow "UCLA Women's Athletics" logo on the left breast as well as a larger representation on the back of the jacket. A montage of UCLA women athletes is positioned beneath the two logo locations on the jacket. The proper "Chalk Line" manufacturer's tagging appears on the inside rear collar. The second jacket a traditional varsity letterman's jacket is navy blue and includes the proper "Ripon" manufacturer's tagging on the inside rear collar with adjacent size 40 strip tag. A large embroidered yellow letter "C" with UCLA embroidered in blue across the bottom appears on the left breast area. Traditional navy blue and yellow UCLA cloth piping populates the waist wrist and collar areas.
