San Diego native Ann Meyers Drysdale turned the basketball world on its ear during the 1970s. A 5' 9" standout she was the first player to be part of the U.S. national team while still in high school. She then went on to become the first woman to be signed to a four-year athletic scholarship at UCLA the first four-time Kodak All-American male or female and the overall number one pick in the WBL (part of the now defunct Women's Professional Basketball League). But it was at UCLA when a nation discovered Ann Meyers. During her senior year (1977-78) she led the Lady Bruins to a national title; a 90-74 victory over Maryland in the title game cemented top honors.

This lot features her circa 1974-78 UCLA Bruins game-worn white home jersey. The size 42 nylon pullover jersey reads "UCLA" vertically down the left front side with Meyers Drysdale's trademark uniform number "15" at the bottom. All lettering and numbering is in blue tackle twill outlined in yellow. The proper "W.A. Goodman & Sons" manufacturer's tag resides on the inside rear collar adjacent to a strip tag ("42") indicating the size. Complete washing instructions are included on the manufacturer's tag. The reverse features her last name "MEYERS" across the shoulders in similar blue tackle twill outlined in yellow with her uniform number "15" residing across the back in like fashion. UCLA's patented blue and yellow piping runs around the sleeve openings as well as up down and across the perimeter of the jersey front and back. A terrific piece of hoops memorabilia from one of the greatest female players in history.

LOA from Ann Meyers Drysdale.
