August 30 1924 New York Yankees payroll check given to long time 1917-26 Yankees 2nd baseman Aaron Ward covering his August monthly salary. Ward who passed away in 1961 has signed the back of the check in perfect 9-10/10 looking dark black ink. The front has been signed by Yankee Hall of Fame executives Ed Barrow and Jacob Ruppert both in 9/10 black ink. Check itself is in excellent condition. One interesting note is found on the back of the check where Ward is given a refund of $1.90 for an overcharge of a hotel bill on August 1.
