9/28/54 2 page letter written to Cy Jones from the Hall of Famer Ty Cobb on his letterhead. In the first part of the letter Cobb thanks Jones for taking care of the young man who went back to New York to meet some players(see Lots 1269 & 1270). The rest is devoted to the 1954 World Series with regards to Cobb's not being in attendance. He says he has been to so many "Series" and doesn't look forward to making the long trip back to Cleveland. He does say he misses seeing the Stevens brothers but will have to skip it this year. Strong 9/10 looking green ink full "Ty Cobb" signature. Original envelope also included. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
