September 16 1943 typed signed letter on Great Lakes Illinois Naval Training Station letterhead signed by Detroit Tiger Hall of Fame catching great Mickey Cochrane in beautiful 9/10 looking vintage black ink. As an officer in the United States naval Reserve Cochrane was writing to recommend one of his men for a commission in the Naval Reserve Corps. Letter itself looks to be in fantastic condition. Beautifully framed to a size of 21" by 17" with a photo of Cochrane in his playing days and a modern portrait baseball card. Great display piece.
