Recently retired slugger Adam Dunn launched a total of 462 home runs during his 14-year MLB career. In 2002 his second year with the Cincinnati Reds Dunn hit 26 home runs and was named to the N.L. All-Star squad. This lot features the actual game-used bat Dunn swung when he hit his 24th round-tripper that season a solo blast that occurred on August 8 against Colorado Rockies southpaw Kent Mercker. The 34 black Adam Dunn Professional Model Louisville Slugger bat shows plenty of game use with dried pine tar stretching up and down the bat handle for nearly 17 inches. A very prominent eight-inch crack exists in the handle. Dunn signed the barrel of the bat in silver marker and added the following inscription: HR # 24 8-8-02 Col. The barrel is completely littered with multiple baseball contact marks.
