After 15 seasons in the major leagues Magglio Ordonez retired in 2012 with a career batting average of .309. He hit 294 home runs the second most by a player born in Venezuela (Andres Galarraga has 399). One year after his retirement from baseball Ordonez transformed from an All-Star outfielder to a mayor of a city in his native Venezuela. The former player for the Chicago White Sox and Detroit Tigers was elected mayor of Sotillo an eastern Venezuelan city with approximately 250000 citizens.
Dating to the 2003-04 period this 34 inch 32.2 ounce Louisville Slugger model C271S Magglio Ordonez professional model bat with a cupped end is un-cracked and exhibits evidence of moderate use. A few ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the left and back barrel. Ball marks include white leather scuffs. Cleat marks are visible on the right barrel and there is a light coat of Mota Stick on the handle. Ordonez's number (30) is written on the knob in silver marker.
