On August 7 1999 during a game against the Cleveland Indians at Tropicana Field in Tampa Devil Rays third baseman Wade Boggs became the first player in the history of Major League Baseball to hit a home run for his 3000th hit. Derek Jeter is the only player to enter the elite club in such fashion.

This lot offers an autographed game used official American League (Budig) baseball from Wade Boggs 3000 hit game. The baseball has been signed and inscribed on the sweet spot with “Wade Boggs - Game Ball - 8/7/99” in flawless blue ink in a 9/10 for strength and eye appeal. The baseball shows appropriate game use with signs of a hit marks and toning.

Autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
