In 1991 Oakland As slugger Jose Canseco belted a league-leading 44 home runs and drove in 122 runs to help his team to 84 wins for the season. On July 2 in fact Canseco hit his 19th round-tripper against the great Nolan Ryan of the Texas Rangers. The three-run bomb came in the fifth inning of a losing 9-6 effort. The actual bat Canseco used to launch that particular home run is featured in this lot. The hand-crafted Jose Canseco model Worth bat measures 35 long and shows considerable game use with multiple contact marks and bat rack marks all over the barrel and gobs of pine tar on the bat handle that runs for nearly 10 from the knob. What makes it even more special is the fact that both Canseco and Ryan have signed and inscribed the bat. Canseco using a black marker signed and inscribed the barrel: Game Used 1991 Homerun #19 while Ryan using a fine-point blue marker signed and inscribed it: "July 2 1991. The bat shows a two-inch crack in the handle that starts about seven inches from the knob. Cansecos initials (JC) are engraved in the knob. Getty photos style match the bat and may even photo-match it from earlier games on July 1 and June 27.

Includes COA from the South Florida Sports Council and COA from Nolan Ryan Foundation COA. Autographs pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
