On June 13 2012 Matt Cain of the San Francisco Giants pitched the 22nd perfect game where no opposing batters reach first base in Major League Baseball (MLB) history and the first in Giants' franchise history. Pitching against the Houston Astros at AT&T Park in San Francisco Cain retired all 27 batters that he faced and tallied 14 strikeouts which tied L.A. Dodgers great Sandy Koufax (1965) for the most strikeouts in a perfect game. This lot includes a Matt Cain autographed and inscribed game-used baseball from that game. Cain has signed the game in blue ink on the sweet spot and added the inscription: P.G. 6-13-12 Game Ball. His signature rates 9/10.
