Major League Baseballs ultra-exclusive 500 Home Run Club seems to be expanding just about every season. Bostons David Ortiz joined it this year to make the fraternity 27 players strong. This lot features a very unique representation of the first 20 members of the prestigious club. It includes four cut signatures of early members Babe Ruth Jimmy Foxx Mel Ott and Ted Williams along with 16 individually signed baseball cards that have been beautifully displayed in a framed-and-matted shadowbox display that measures 34 wide by 38 high. A specially engraved black-and-gold plaque measuring 11 wide by nine inches high is prominently positioned in the center of the display touting the first 20 members of the 500 Home Run Club: Babe Ruth Mel Ott Jimmie Foxx Eddie Murray Mark McGwire Barry Bonds Frank Robinson Sammy Sosa Ken Griffey Jr. Harmon Killebrew Reggie Jackson Mike Schmidt Mickey Mantle Ted Williams Willie McCovey Eddie Mathews Ernie Banks and Rafael Palmeiro. Nine of the signatures (four cuts and five baseball cards: Griffey Mantle Bonds Sosa and McGwire) have been authenticated and graded by PSA Cards while the remaining 11 signatures are bold and strong. An incredible salute to the first 20 players in MLB history who crossed the historic 500 Home Run plateau.
