Offered here is a 2016 Mother’s Day game-used bat from reigning American League Rookie of the Year Carlos Correa. The 6’4” 215 lb. Puerto Rican shortstop whose physical presence and natural talent is reminiscent of a young A-Rod is on pace for another great season as the Houston Astros chases their second straight playoff berth. The Astros hosted the Seattle Mariners on Sunday May 8th and Correa made his ‘madre’ proud going 1-3 with an RBI single walk and stolen base in Houston’s 5-1 victory. The bat comes straight from Correa’s personal collection and its game use is verified by MLB Authentication.
Correa’s 33.5 inch 34 ounce Tucci Lumber 'TL-CC1-M' professional model bat comes in bright pink with a cupped end. It is uncracked and shows solid evidence of game use with ball contact marks on the barrel and a light coat of Mota Stick on the lower handle. Also visible near the label is an impression from a weighted batting donut. The circle on the handle identifies the face grain of the bat. This is a mandatory marking per Major League Baseball for all maple bats since January 2009. The length and weight (33.5/31.5) are stamped on the barrel after “05041688.6” which indicates a manufacturing date of 5/4/16. Correa’s number “1” appears on a silver sticker affixed to the knob. Correa added his signature and inscription ‘G/U 2016’ on the barrel in 8/10 black marker.
