May 15 1922 New York Yankee payroll check made out to ace right handed pitcher Carl Mays who was just coming out a league leading 27-9 record in 1921. Check is endorsed on the back in vintage 8-9/10 black ink. Yankee owner Jacob Ruppert has signed the front in 9/10 looking vintage black ink. Interesting break down on back of check listing a deduction of $30.00 for "Uniform Deposit" and $3.99 for "Mrs. Mays transportation N.Y. to Phila.". Check itself in very nice shape with three folds. Autograph slabbed PSA/DNA AUTHENTIC.
