Although he normally wears uniform No. 27 Mike Trout like every other player in Major League Baseball wore No. 42 on April 15 2014 in honor of Jackie Robinson Day. Playing at Angels Stadium against the visiting Oakland As the home team dropped an extra-inning 10-9 thriller despite the outstanding hustle and play of Trout. The third-year player went 3-for-6 that day including ripping a game-tying two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning. In the bottom of the 11th inning with his team down a run Trout even swiped second base. This is the Angels home jersey that Trout was wearing that night complete with a chest-full of infield dirt he acquired as a result of his headfirst slide into second base in the 11th inning (see attached photos from Getty and AP). The size 48 Authentic Collection Majestic white jersey even includes an MLB authentication hologram (# EK 821372) on the front of the tag signifying it was worn in a major league game. The 100% polyester jersey includes the Angels team logo patch on the right sleeve the Angels 1961 Baseball logo patch on the left sleeve and a separate sewn-in white label that reads: 27-48-2014.
