Former New York Yankees Team Captain Derek Jeter is considered by many to be on of the greatest perhaps the most clutch performers to ever don the club’s trademark pinstripes. He consistently came up big in pressure-packed situations. He finally decided to hang up his spikes following the 2014 season but only after setting the team’s new record for career hits (3465) and winning five World Series titles (1996 1998-00 and 2009). This lot features the Captain’s game-used pair of Nike Jordan brand batting gloves used during his memorable final season in the Bronx. It was a campaign in which the 40-year-old Jeter went out with a bang by registering 149 hits including 19 doubles and 50 runs batted in.
The white gray black and blue batting gloves show incredible game use with embedded dirt and even some pine tar showing on the gloves. The Jordan Brand Logoman emblem is featured in silver on each glove as is a special baseball diamond design that’s part of both gloves’ Velcro-wrapped wrist area. Sewn on the inside wrist area of both gloves is a special blue label reading “#2 JETER” in sparkling silver characters. The pair of game-used Derek Jeter gloves is guaranteed authentic by virtue of the tamper-evident Steiner Sports holograms found on each glove. Steiner Sports is the Official Memorabilia Partner of Derek Jeter and the New York Yankees.
