What gives this jersey even more credibility is that it can be photo-matched to a September 14 2013 home game vs. the Seattle Mariners. On the front the black outline of the yellow bat has frayed in the top middle and this unique de-threading mark is clearly visible in an 8x10 printed photo from that game (Cards lost 4-1) provided by the consignor. Thus this jersey was worn during the regular season and in the playoffs the postseason patch having been sewn on before the Cardinals used these home alternates. They did not wear them in the NLDS against the Pirates and only once against the Dodgers in the NLCS. Photo research traces it to Game 2 of the NLCS a tight 1-0 victory that Molina called to perfection in helping 22-year-old rookie Michael Wacha outdual Clayton Kershaw.
The accompanying cap shows also comes in outstanding condition with Size 7 3/8 tagging inside along with New Era and Majestic tagging. The cap has the 2013 Postseason and MLB logo patches as well. Yadier's No. 4 is handwritten in silver marker underneath the brim above an authentication sticker from MLB (EK885414). Molina has signed the front of the brim in black Sharpie for which JSA has affixed a cert sticker (W633918) under the brim as well.
It should be noted that the MLB database attests to the jersey and cap as being team-issued. However noted uniform expert Dave Miedema stipulates to the game use in an included LOA. If MLB does not receive an item within a certain amount of time from a team or player they are required to call it game/team "issued" per their policy.
