In 2013 Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera turned in another season to remember. A year after being the first Major Leaguer to hit for the Triple Crown since Boston's Carl Yastrzemski in 1967 Cabrera turned in a follow-upjaw-dropping season at the plate by belting 44 home runs driving in 137 runs and batting .348. Not surprisingly Cabrera was named the A.L. MVP for the second year in a row. This 2013 Cabrera game-used Detroit Tigers playoff road jersey comes from the tail end of his back-to-back MVP campaign.
According to the MLB Authentication database Miggy sported this gray 100% polyester button-down jersey in Game 1 of both the ALDS at Oakland and ALCS at Boston. The Tigers won both series openers. What's more it has been photo-matched by the experts at Resolution Photomatching to both games. Cabrera hit two home runs during the 2013 postseason both on the road and drove in seven runs in 11 games. After depositing the A's in five the Tigers fell to the eventual World Series Champion Red Sox in six.
The city “Detroit” appears scripted in Navy blue tackle twill outlined in orange and white across the chest with hislast name “CABRERA” arched across the shoulder blades in similar tackle twill fashion. His uniform number "24" appears on both sides also in Navy blue tackle twill outlined in orange and white. The front left tail of the jersey features a “Majestic Authentic Collection” manufacturer’s label with awhite strip tag below that reads “24 48 ’13 PL 1 536.” The right sleeve is adorned by a specially embroidered MLB "2013 POSTSEASON" patch. Tigers’ clubhouse manager Jim Schmakel marked the manufacturer’s label “JSG” inblack sharpie to verify the jersey was worn by Cabrera. The jersey shows solid wear.
MLB Auth. #EK 892514. LOA from Resolution Photomatching with conclusive photo-matches to both 10/4/13 and 10/12/13 games.
