From Mike Trout’s historic rookie season in 2012 comes his incredibly rare game-worn Salt Lake Bees (AAA) road jersey. Trout was first called up by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in 2011 and saw action in 40 games covering 123 at-bats. He would start the 2012 season in Triple-A with the Salt Lake Bees of the Pacific Coast League where he batted a ridiculous .403 in 93 at-bats and had a whopping OPS of 1.091. The Angels could wait no longer and officially called him up to Big Leagues for good on April 28 2012. To say Trout's first MLB season was spectacular does not do it justice. The 6’ 2” 235-lb. centerfielder batted .326 and led the A.L. in runs (129) and stolen bases (49). He led all rookies in every major offensive category and was the unanimous choice for American League Rookie of the Year. Trout earned runner-up for A.L. MVP as well by becoming the first player in history to steal 45 bases score 125 runs and hit 30 home runs in a single season.
The gray mesh button-down jersey has “SALT LAKE” across the chest in black on yellow tackle twill lettering with No. “23” front and back in the same format. The Bees logo patch is sewn on the left sleeve with the Angels iconic “A” logo patch on the right. The Rawlings logo and size 48 are stamped in the back collar with the MiLB (minor league baseball) patch on the reverse. A red Rawlings manufacturer’s patch is sewn on the front left tail. The letters and numbers show heavy puckering and loose threads from game use. Plus there is light dirt and sweat staining near the armpits. Trout played 20 games in Salt Lake but photos of him sporting his road gray uniform are sparse. You can count the number of Trout minor league gamers to surface in the hobby on one hand. And this could very well be the last jersey he put on from his final stop in the minors. The rest as they say is history.
Includes LOA from Salt Lake Bees on team letterhead.
