Featured here is a game-worn pair of Lamar Odom's Nike Hyperdunk ESP+ signature model sneakers from his 2012-13 season with the Los Angeles Clippers. It was the final season for the versatile 6'10" forward in a career stretching 14 years with four different teams. He will be most remembered for his stat-stuffing years with the L.A. Lakers helping Kobe and company win back-to-back NBA titles in 2009 and 2010. His career averages stand at 13.3 points 8.4 rebounds and 3.7 assists.
These bright red shoes with blue Swooshes come in size 17 and show solid game use with some scuffing and appropriate heel drag. Odom's creative "LO" brand label appears on the tongues. The original red laces are present but the insoles have been removed most likely for custom orthotics that many NBA players prefer to use. Proper Nike tagging is found under the tongues with "SEASON H012" and "PROMO SAMPLE" denoting player-issued status for the 2012-13 season. Odom has signed the outer toes of both shoes in 9/10 silver. He has also inscribed each one with "CATHY" (outer toes) "Jayden" and "Grandma" outer heels) in black Sharpie. In 2009 Odom began a pre-game ritual of writing the names of three lostloved ones on his shoes. His mother Cathy died of cancer when he was12. He was raised by his Grandma who passed in 2003 at the age of 80.Most tragically Lamar lost his daughter Jayden at six months to SIDS. His recent struggles with addiction are rooted in tragedy.
This pair comes with excellent provenance from the personal collection of former NBA assistant coach Henry Bibby who coached against Odom many games and received this pair after a game.
