Landon Donovan’s career with the U.S. National Team (2000-2014) is well-documented. He has the second-most caps (157) and remains the all-time leader in goals (57) and assists (58). In fact, no international player from any country has dished out more dimes on the pitch than Lando. On the club side, the versatile midfielder/winger/striker won a record six MLS Cups with the L.A. Galaxy (2005-14) and is the league's all-time assists leader. His legacy speaks for itself, and the Major League Soccer MVP Award is now named in his honor.
During his decade run with the Galaxy, Donovan was loaned to Bayern Munich and Everton FC. Offered here is a 2009-10 Everton match jersey issued to the American soccer legend during a nine-week stint from January to March 2010. In his first of two successful tenures with the Premier League club, he played in ten matches, starting seven and contributing two goals with three assists.
The blue long-sleeved pullover (size L) made by Le Coq Sportif has the French apparel brand’s logo on the right chest and the Everton team crest embroidered on the left. A large logo of kit sponsor Chang is centered on the front in white. Properly tagged within the ribbed crew-neck collar, the shirt has the Barclays Premier League patch on both sleeves. Donovan’s name and No. 9 appear on the back in white felt outlined in black. According to Sports Investors Authentication, the shirt exhibits no visual evidence of wear. Our consignor’s source apparently acquired the shirt through the Tottenham kitman. Includes a letter from SIA.
