This lot presents a game-worn pair of Carmelo Anthony's Nike signature model sneakers from the 2008-09 season when he was starred for the Denver Nuggets. The 9-time All-Star averaged 22.8 points and 6.8 rebounds on the year. The size 15 'Jordan Melo M5' white and baby blue (Nuggets-themed) sneakers display moderate wear with stretching and heel drag. The Jordan brand and Melo logos along with his uniform No. "5" are stamped on the outsoles. The insoles have been removed most likely for custom-orthotic inserts that many NBA players like Melo prefer to use. Appropriate Nike promo tagging is found on the inside tongue with "SEASON SP09" properly labeled for player sample shoes from that season. Anthony has signed the front of both shoes in 8/10 black marker on the front. They come with excellent provenance from the personal collection of former NBA assistant coach Henry Bibby who was gifted the pair after a game when he coached the Memphis Grizzlies.
