The Super Bowl XLII battle between the undefeated (18-0) AFC Champion New England Patriots and the 11-7 NFC Champion New Giants is easily one of the NFLs greatest Cinderella stories in history. In what can only be described as jaw-dropping the Giants staged some unbelievable late-game heroics that included a stunning pass and helmet catch from QB Eli Manning to wideout David Tyree that extended a 12-play 83- yard drive to set up the Giants final score in a stunning 17-14 victory. The win halted the Patriots quest to become just the second NFL team in history to post an undefeated season the first being the 1972 Miami Dolphins who finished the season with a record of 17-0.
Offered here is an exquisitely crafted symbol of gridiron excellence that was awarded to team member Brandon London who served as a rookie wide receiver that season following Big Blues epic win. Many experts believe this victory was the high-water mark of the Giants nine decade history and one of the greatest Super Bowls ever played. The gorgeous monochromatic design is unlike any Championship ring ever produced crafted entirely from white gold and genuine diamonds. Three Lombardi Trophies representing each Super Bowl victory for the franchise adorn the face along with the team's "NY" logo and the words "World Champions" in raised text. The left shank provides the logo of Super Bowl XLII the date and the score "NYG 17 NE 14." The right shank announces LONDON along with the logo of the NFL and a mention of the difficult path to glory: "Eleven Straight Wins on the Road." The size 12 ring weighs 70 grams and is in immaculate condition. Its interior band is stamped "Tiffany & Co. .585" with the digits indicating fourteen karat (14k) gold. A remarkable piece of sports jewelry commemorating a Super Bowl victory for the ages.
