The generosity of David Ortiz shines through here with the gift of this 2007 Nokona ‘NK-243’ pro model game used bat to a former teammate. The affable Dominican slugger had arguably his greatest MLB season as he batted a career-high .332 with 35 dingers and 117 RBI. Big Papi led the AL in walks and OBP and had the best WAR (6.4) of his Hall of Fame career. To top it off, the Red Sox won their second World Series in a four-year span.

The two-toned maple bat has a black-painted upper section and standard lower finish separated by a golden band in the middle. A Dominican Republic decal flag is positioned next to the central gold band. Ortiz used Nokona, a Texas-based brand, intermittently in addition to Rawlings from 2007 to 2010. The bat is un-cracked and shows light use with a few ball marks and stitch impressions. The length ("34.5") and weight ("33.25") are marked on the knob. His uniform No. "34" is marked on both the barrel and knob ends.

Papi has autographed the barrel with a personal message to his 2007 Red Sox teammate, relief pitcher Brendan Donnelly. It reads, "To My Boy Donnely [sic] Get Better Homeboy God Bless!" in 9/10 gold permanent marker. The bat has been consigned from Donnelly's personal collection with a letter of provenance. Includes LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA graded GU 7. The autograph and inscription are also certified by PSA/DNA.
