Carlos Pena was the 10th overall pick in the 1998 draft and played 14 seasons in the majors for eight different teams. In his prime Pena was a prodigious power threat averaging 34 homers and 95 walks per season from 2007-2011 while producing an .871 OPS during that span. In 2007 the year of service for the offered bat Pena clouted a career high 46 homers.
This MAX Bat model 703 Carlos Pena professional model bat is uncracked and shows evidence of heavy use. Many ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on all sides of the barrel. Ball marks include blue ink transfers. Cleat marks are visible on the right and left barrel. Also visible on the bat are black and green bat rack streaks. The Handle and knob have been taped in a spiral pattern to enhance the grip and there is a moderate coat of pine tar on the handle. Pena's number (23) is on a sticker affixed to the knob and top barrel. A Carlos Pena signature his number "23" and the added inscription "Game Used 2007 46 HR Season" is written on the front barrel in silver marker.
