By the 2007 MLB season St Louis Cardinals slugging first baseman Albert Pujols was one of the most feared batters in the National League. Coming off his highest career home run total of 49 the season before Pujols returned with a vengeance and hit 32 round-trippers knocked in 103 runs all the while batting .327.

This lot features "Sir Albert's" 2007 St. Louis Cardinals game-worn road jersey. The Authentic Collection Majestic polyester jersey shows the Cardinals trademark two birds on bat embroidered chenille logo across the front with "Cardinals" spelled out in red script embroidery outlined in navy blue. His uniform number "5" is positioned on the left breast via red tackle twill outlined in navy blue. The left front tail boasts the proper Majestic manufacturer's tag with a pair of adjacent strip tags reading "50" and "2007" to indicate the size and year in which it was worn. The back of the jersey shows "PUJOLS" in arched fashion across the shoulders in red tackle twill outlined in navy blue positioned right above his uniform number "5" in similar tackle twill fashion. The official MLB logo patch appears on the outside of the rear collar. On April 29 2007 Cardinals pitcher Josh Hancock died in a car accident in St Louis. Hancock a 29-year-old reliever who threw 77 innings for the team during the 2006 season collided with a tow truck stopped on Interstate 64 to assist another motorist. After Hancock's death the Cardinals began wearing a black patch reading "32" embroidered in white on their uniforms in his memory. That patch resides on this jersey left sleeve. Some fraying and puckering is evident on the letters and numbers but overall the jersey still displays beautifully.
