In 2006 former New York Yankees Team Captain Derek Jeter produced yet another stellar season. The recently retired shortstop batted .343. after collecting 214 hits and driving in 97 runs. The 32-year-old Jeter played in 154 games and posted a .975 fielding percentage. The Yankees meanwhile won the A.L. East Division flag with 97 regular-season wins.This lot features Jeter's game worn New York Yankees home jersey from that successful campaign. The blazing Yankees pinstripe jersey features the iconic Yankees "NY" logo in Navy blue tackle twill on the front left chest. The size 48 Russell Athletic top carries all the appropriate tagging on the left front tail including a strip tag reading "2006" plus the Steiner authentication hologram affixed to the manufacturer's tag. The reverse side shows Jeter's iconic uniform number "2" in Navy blue tackle twill. Some fraying of the number is evident. The jersey shows good game use and retains ideal display quality.Includes Letter of Authenticity from Steiner Sports.
