This autographed game-worn brick alternate home jersey was used by Craig Biggio during the Houston Astros' historic 2005 season — the year they made their first World Series appearance. Biggio, a Hall of Famer inducted in 2015, spent his entire 20-year career with the Astros, accumulating 3,060 hits.
The brick red alternate home jersey features "Astros" across the front above Biggio's number "7" in navy blue and orange and white trim. The MLB Authentic Majestic tagging has a size 46 fly tag attached. The back of the jersey has "BIGGIO" and his number "7" in white with navy blue and orange trim. Biggio has signed the back '7' in bold black permanent marker. The 2005 World Series patch is sewn on the right sleeve, while the Astros alternate logo is sewn on the left. The autograph is certified by Beckett with the company's QR-coded cert sticker (BJ92002) at the foot of the back number.
It should be noted that the Astros wore this home alternate style during the regular season, NLDS and NLCS, but not during the World Series. As is the case with many regular and postseason worn jerseys, this one was prepared for the World Series with the patch added by the team equipment manager just prior to the start of the Fall Classic in case the team decided to wear this style.
