Here then is an amazing (pardon the pun) gamer from a legendary Met (and Dodger too) Mike Piazza a likely eventual Hall of Famer who was easily the best-hitting catcher of his era and maybe of any era. With 427 home runs a .308 lifetime average and 1335 RBI's he posted numbers unprecedented for a backstop and earned a total of 12 All-Star selections and 10 Silver Slugger Awards. The gray road jersey has NEW YORK proudly emblazoned across the chest in stunning orange textured blue and black tackle twill. Piazza's No. 31 sits below on the left front in the same colors and in the same fashion on the back along with his name. The jersey is trimmed in blue piping and a Velcro patch is sewn inside the front between the second and third buttons. The right sleeve sports the 40th Anniversary of Shea Stadium patch and the Tug McGraw Ya Gotta Believe memorial quote embroidered below. The left sleeve has the traditional Mets logo patch above the embroidered blue "Majestic" logo. Majestic label is sewn inside the front left tail with added "50" and Set 8 2004 flap tags. Jersey shows game use and appears to be essentially as issued and problem free.
