Carmelo Anthony came into his first NBA season fresh off leading his Syracuse Orangemen to the 2003 NCAA Championship. The Denver Nuggets drafted the 6'8" forward with the 3rd overall pick and he averaged an impressive 21 points during his rookie year helping them reach the playoffs. Featured here is a single "Melo" game-worn and signed Nike shoe from the latter part of the 2004 season including the 1st round of the playoffs. The Nuggets were beaten in four games by the Minnesota T-Wolves as "Melo" averaged 15 points. Now with the New York Knicks he has developed into one of the NBA's best scorers and may very well be enshrined in Springfield Mass. some day.
The Nike Air Jordan 'Melo' signature model left shoe comes in white leather with light blue laces and matching color designs. "MELO" is stamped behind the heel in yellow and his number "15" is stamped in blue on the left side. Anthony has autographed the outer lower ankle in 9/10 black marker. All elements are completely intact. The shoe exhibits light to moderate wear and is essentially as-issued in appropriate game-used condition. Four style matching and most likely photo-matching Getty images attached from April 18-27 2004 playoff series vs. Minnesota. Awesome piece that would go great with his Rookie season game-worn jersey (Lot 681) also featured in this auction.
Comes with a Steiner COA hologram card.
