This is the ball from the team that ended a curse and promptly launched a once-moribund franchise to a decade of prominence that continues to this day. The Red Sox dissed the Curse of Babe Ruth in dramatic fashion in 2004 doing something that no other team had ever done: win a seven-game playoff series after starting from an 0-3 deficit. And just to rev up the aura a bit they pulled this off against the Yankees their archrival and the principal beneficiaries of that aforementioned Curse of Babe Ruth. Thus this historic baseball a 2004 World Series Official MLB Selig boasts 25 signatures from a group that includes the likes of Ortiz Ramirez Damon Kapler Millar Varitek Reese Burks Martinez Schilling Wakefield Arroyo Lowe et. al. Its a wonderful artifact commemorating perhaps the most important moment in Boston Red Sox history. The signatures are bold ballpoint and come with a Letter of Authenticity from Major League Baseball which has affixed its authentication hologram to the ball below the Rawlings trademark. An edition size of 172/250 is penned in the same ballpoint near the sweet spot.
