Japanese sensation Ichiro Suzuki burst upon the Major League baseball scene in 2001 with a season to remember for the Seattle Mariners. Not only did the 28-year-old newcomer win Rookie of the Year honors as well as the American League MVP Award but he collected 242 hits while batting a league-leading .350! Two years later in 2003 Ichiro posted his third straight remarkable season by batting .312 with 212 hits and 34 stolen bases. This is a pair of Ichiros game-worn Mizuno gloves from the 03 season. He has signed the right glove in silver across the palm area and added #51 his uniform number with the Ms. Having already surpassed 4000 career hits with his combined totals from Japan Ichiro is now closing in on the 3000-hit plateau for just his tenure with Major League Baseball. Over his first 13 MLB seasons the steady right fielder has averaged 210 hits.
