The late great Tony Gwynn was one of the greatest hitters in Major League Baseball history. The recently deceased Gwynn was affectionately called Mr. Padre because he stayed with the San Diego Padres throughout his entire 20-year tenure in the majors. A lifetime .338 hitter Gwynn had a keen eye for the baseball and struck out on average only once in every 21 at-bats. He collected 3141 hits over the course of his career including 2378 singles. This Louisville Slugger San Diego Padres branded professional model B267 bat was well used by Gwynn. Ball marks and rack marks appear throughout the barrel and the handle shows pine tar remnants and Gwynn's custom tape job on the lower portion and knob. Bat specs and Gwynn's number "19" are written on the knob end with further notation including the model number and year "98" designation appearing in the cupped end of the barrel. Gwynn signed it in blue Sharpie just above the model number and his branded name on the barrel. It measures 33 long and weighs 30 and a half ounces. A fine uncracked Gwynn gamer with ideal traits.
