This lot offers a great game used bat from Todd Helton's 2001 MLB campaign with the Colorado Rockies. The Louisville Slugger 'C271' model shows excellent signs of game use with several ball marks and ball stitch impressions throughout the barrel. Cleat marks can also be noticed on the left of the barrel as well as a heavy coat of pine tar on the handle. '17' has been written in on the bat knob in black permanent marker denoting Helton's number. The weight (33.09 oz) and length (33.625 in) have been verified by the manufacturer's ordering records for Helton.
Helton finished the 2001 season with 49 home runs, 146 RBIs, and hit an impressive .336 BA, enough to earn him a spot on the NL All-Star team. The bat is accompanied by a full LOA from PSA/DNA and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9.
