Charlie Wonsowicz was a beloved and valued member of the Yankees on-field staff for 21 years. In addition to serving as a pitching coach from 1993–2013 he was also an advanced scout video coordinator and regular BP pitcher for the team largely during the Joe Torre era.The offered Yankees 2001 American League Championship ring was presented to “Wonso” for his significant contributions to the Bronx Bombers. The 14K gold Balfour size 11.25 ring features the Top Hat Yankees logo on the face amidst a bed of real diamonds. Around the perimeter is the proclamation “YANKEES AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS” in raised relief lettering. One shank has the year” 2001” a baseball motif and the term “TRADITION.” The other shank contains the name “WONSOWICZ” the interlocking NY over an American Flag (memorializing the terrorist attacks on 9/11) with the word “PRIDE” below. The interior band has Charlie Wonsowicz’s name engraved and the BALFOUR 14K stamp. Size: 11-1/4. Weight: 54.9 grams. Near Mint condition.
