Addendum: Letter of provenance has year typo from referee Hue Hollins. See end of description for this clarification.
During the 2001-02 NBA season 38-year-old superstar Michael Jordan averaged 22.9 points per outing in 60 regular-season games for the Washington Wizards. The Wiz finished fifth in the Eastern Conference’s Atlantic Division standings with a record of 37-45. From the second to last of MJ's legendary career comes this pair of his dual-signed and game worn Air Jordan XVII 'Low PE' shoes. They are style-matched to several games from mid-March to the lastgame he played that season on April 2 2002 vs. the L.A. Lakers. As it turns out this particular pair of shoes was gifted by Jordan tolongtime NBA referee Hue Hollins following a game during the final twoweeks of the season.
The tri-colorway (white Carolina blue and silver) size 13.5 shoes show evidence of light to moderate use with heel drag and minor creasing and scuffing on the uppers. They sport the Jumpman logo on the heels and arch areas with a flag tag of MJ's iconic No. "23" just inside the innovative baby blue sock liner that rises ankle high. Coming with their original white insoles and laces both shoes are properly tagged in the interior with "020305 Y3" and a manufacturing date of "01-30-02". Each sneaker has been signed on the outer ankle area by Jordan in fine-point black marker (8/10) who added “Best Wishes” before both autographs. Both signatures show slight bleeds into the leather but remain legible and strong.
Includes notarized letter of provenance from longtime NBA referee Hue Hollins. It should be noted that Hollins dated the letter October 21 2001 with a typo of the year at the top; the notarized date of the letter was done the same day and is correctly dated October 21 2002 at the bottom. Also comes with two full LOAs from PSA/DNA one for each autograph.
