Paul Konerko started his career in 1997 by recording seven at-bats with the Dodgers but played 16 of his 18 seasons with the White Sox. He ends an excellent major-league career with 439 home runs 1412 RBI and nine stolen bases while playing 2349 games. Konerko helped the White Sox win the 2005 World Series the franchise's first since 1917. From 2006 to 2014 he served as the White Sox captain.
From the 2000 season this 34 inch 32.3 ounce Louisville Slugger model C243 Paul Konerko professional model bat shows evidence of outstanding use with a very slight handle crack. Many ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the front and left barrel. Ball marks include blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs. Cleat marks are visible on the back barrel. The edge of the knob has been taped and there is a moderate coat of Mota stick on the handle. Konerko" s number (14)is written on the knob in silver marker. A Paul Konerko signature is written on the front barrel in gold pen.
Provenance: The bat is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity from Robert Gallas president of the Chicago White Sox Charities.
