The recently retired Derek Jeter had a fabulous career in pinstripes. Through 20 major league seasons with the New York Yankees The Captain hung up his spikes at the end of last season with the following career numbers: 3465 hits 1311 runs batted in 544 double 260 home runs and a lifetime batting average of .310. Jeters weapon of choice for much of his 20-year tenure in the major leagues was a 34-inch black Louisville Slugger Professional Model (P272) bat. This lot includes a game-used bat that Jeter swung in 200 and/or 2001 at a time the Yankees won their 3rd straight World Series title and were a Luis Gonzalez blooper short of perhaps their 4th in a row. The bat shows a slight crack on the face of the barrel and shows ample contact marks from opposing pitches. It also possesses a great deal of "Manny Mota Grip Stick" on the handle a pine tar solution used by many ballplayers to get a better grip. Jeter has autographed the barrel of the bat in silver right beside his machine-engraved signature. The autograph rates 7-8/10 in our book. A superb piece of game-used sports memorabilia from one of the all-time New York Yankee greats!

Includes Steiner LOA signed by Jeter. The bat has been graded a 9 by John Taube of PSA/DNA and comes with a full PSA graded LOA.

Autograph pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
