John Franco was a reliable closer who recorded 424 saves during the course of his 21-year MLB career 14 seasons of which were pitching for the New York Mets. In 1999 the 38-year-old southpaw still had enough gas in the tank to post 19 more saves for the Mets. This lot features Franco's game-worn and autographed 1999 New Mets home jersey. The inside of the lower rear jersey includes the proper AIS Pro Look Pro Quality" manufacturer's tagging sewn on complete with size 46 and washing instructions. The front of the button-down white jersey with blue pinstripes reads "Mets" across the front in blue script tackle twill outlined in orange and black. Franco's uniform number "45" appears in similar fashion on the left chest area. The embroidered "Mets" logo appears on the left sleeve while Franco's uniform number "45" repeats itself on the reverse in similar tackle twill fashion. Franco has signed the back of the jersey just below the numeral "4" in blue marker.
