Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kordell Stewart was considered a triple threat during his playing days as he could pass rush and catch passes out of the backfield. Nicknamed “Slash” Stewart always kept opposing defenses on their toes when they squared off against him. Among NFL quarterbacks his 38 career rushing touchdowns ranks him fourth all-time behind Steve Young and Cam Newton (both with 43) and Jack Kemp (with 40). He spent his first eight seasons in the NFL with the Steelers and lined up behind center for the team in 80 regular season starts.This lot features his 1997 Pittsburgh Steelers game worn road jersey from a season in which he passed for 3020 yards and threw 21 touchdown passes.

On the front left tail of the white well-worn jersey is the proper Nike NFL Pro Line manufacturer’s tag and two strip tags reading “97” for the season and “48” for the size of the durene garment. The front of the jersey boasts Stewart’s uniform number “10” in sewn-on black tackle twill the embroidered Steelers logo patch on the left shoulder and the official red white and blue NFL shield on the bottom of the V-neck collar. Stewart’s uniform number repeats itself on the back of the jersey as well as on either sleeve accompanied by two embroidered Nike black swooshes. His last name “STEWART” stretches across the back of the shoulders in black tackle twill letters sewn directly on to a separate white nameplate. The Steelers trademark black white and gold stripes appear on either sleeve. Though solid game use is evident with some slight staining and hit marks present on the jersey it remains in remarkably good shape.
