Here then is a true gem a San Francisco 49ers home jersey that was worn by 49ers linebacker Ken Norton Jr. during his last of three Pro Bowl selections in 1997. On the left front tail is the "Reebok" manufacturers tag another Reebok manufacturer's tag appears at the color with Size 50 and wash instructions and a "100% Nylon" flag tag below. On the front back and on both sleeves in white black and gold tackle twill is the Norton's No. 51. On the back on a red mesh nameplate is the name "NORTON" also in white and black tackle twill. The jersey has red spandex sides and custom elastic sleeves. On both sleeves next to the player number is the "Reebok" embroidered logo patch. On the bottom front collar is the embroidered official "NFL" logo patch. This jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.

Please note that it is tagged 1996 but does not have the 49ers 50th anniversary patch traditionally adorned to these 1996 Reebok gamers. It is a known fact that other 49ers and NFL players of that era would sometimes wear jerseys issued in different seasons. It is our opinion that Norton wore this jersey - being of the same manufacturer (Reebok) - the year after it was issued by the team. The red home Reebok jerseys in 1996 & 1997 were essentially the same except for that patch. There is no sign on the mesh fabric that the 50th anniversary patch was ever sewn on this 1996 tagged jersey allowing Norton to wear it during the '97 season. The jersey is beat up with numerous team repairs paint transfers and other marks. There is no question as to the authenticity of the game use.
