This is a 1997 game-worn road jersey and pants from former 49ers tight end Brent Jones a veteran of 11 seasons in the NFL three-time Pro Bowler was also a key member of three 49er Super Bowl championship clubs. He finished his 11 NFL seasons with 417 receptions for 5195 yards and 33 touchdowns. The jersey is a white mesh with white spandex rib panels. Jone's No. 84 appears in red gold and black tackle twill on the front back and shoulders. "Jones" is done in black and red tackle twill on a white nameplate on the back; the San Francisco logo is screened in vinyl on each sleeve along with black and red striping and the Reebok logo. The tail holds a Reebok Pro Line 1997 label and a Size 52 Reebok tag is featured on the collar with "100 % Polyester" attached small flag tag. The jersey shows significant alterations and wear. Sleeves are custom cut and hemmed and stripes on sleeves are cracking and fading. There are some hit marks paint transfers and soiling spots on the shoulders as well.
The Reebok-tagged Size 38 pants show dirt staining & perspiration discoloration from game use. The faded wash instructions tag and smaller Reebok tag are found on the inside of the belt which also has a hand-written notation of his No. 84. Jones' No. 84 has been handwritten at two locations on the inside of the waistband with both subsequently blacked out. Black and red elastic striping alternates down each leg. Embroidered Reebok logo patch is sewn on the front right and the NFL shield logo patch appears on the left. Belt laces and all other elements appear intact and largely as issued.
