Lance Berkman's 1997 Bowman Chrome rookie captures the future six-time All-Star in a relaxed pose leaning on a truck hood, Houston Astros script jersey on full display, the chrome finish lending extra shine to this beloved late-90s issue. This particular copy has been graded a flawless PSA Gem Mint 10, representing the pinnacle of the population report for this rookie card.

 

Drafted with the 16th overall pick in 1997, Berkman would go on to anchor the Astros' lineup for over a decade before capping his career with a 2011 World Series championship in St. Louis. The reverse scouting report touts him as the Collegiate Baseball Writers' National Player of the Year, having led the nation with 41 home runs and 134 RBI, and notes that his father taught him to switch-hit at just six years old. A pristine example of a switch-hitting slugger's rookie card.
