A truly electrifying player with a flair for the sensational as well as dramatic Allen Iverson was an 11-time NBA All-Star and four-time scoring champion. He was one of the most prolific scorers in NBA history in spite of his small stature listed at 6 feet and 180 pounds. His regular-season career scoring average of 26.7 points per game ranks sixth all time and his playoff career scoring average of 29.7 points per game is second only to the great Michael Jordan. Iverson was named the NBA Most Valuable Player in 2000-01 leading his team to the 2001 NBA Finals that same season. Featured here is AI's 1997-98 game-worn road jersey from his second year in the NBA when he averaged 22 points and 6.2 assists per game while shooting a career-best 46% from the field.
The black mesh jersey has the proper Champion manufacturer's tagging on the front left tail with wash instructions and size "42" indicated. Adjacent is the "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for Philadelphia 76ers 1997-98 Body Length +2" tag. Across the front is the large "SIXERS" embroidered patch with intricate red white blue silver. gold and black embroidery. Player No. "3" appears both front and back. Player name "IVERSON" appears on back. All numbers and letters are done in white on red tackle twill. At the upper left chest is the official NBA embroidered logo patch. Overall the all-original jersey shows light wear with minimal fraying of the stitching on the tackle twill elements. It comes directly from the personal collection of Coby Karl (son of longtime NBA coach George Karl) who played in the NBA from 2007-10. He received all items from his collection either straight from the player or through his father who coach Iverson in Denver 2006-08.
LOA from Coby Karl.
