Presented here is a pair of trunks and robe from the final fight of Tommy Morrison's storied and tragic career or at least the initial stage before his forced retirement in 1996 because of an AIDS diagnosis. After a decade-long absence he would return for a pair of fights both TKO's that brought his final record to 48-3-1. Morrison retired from boxing in 1996 when he tested positive for HIV. Morrison attempted a comeback in 2006 claiming he had tested negative for HIV. In August 2013 Morrison's mother announced that her son was in the final stages of AIDS and he died on September 1 2013. The former World Boxing Organization champion appeared in the 1990 Sylvester Stallone boxing film Rocky V. The gold satin trunks have red satin striping down each side and "Tommy" in red twill across the elasticized waist; in same fashion on the back is his nickname "Duke." His hometown "Jay OK" is affixed in the same fashion on the seat of the pants some for "TCB" and a lightning bolt symbol and "Duke" in block letters on the front. The bottom of the shorts is ringed by 14 tackle twil red stars sewn in near the edge. Two tiny flag tags appear on the inside of the back of the trunks: one with "XL" imprinted and another with wash instructions. The matching gold satin robe has that same "TCB" element very large on the back and "Duke" down each sleeve. All elements of trunks and robe appear to be in essentially as-issued and problem-free condition; come with a photo of Morrison wearing the shorts at the March 11 1996 fight in Tokyo Japan won by Morrison in a first-round TKO.
