Awesome pair of Scottie Pippen game-worn shoes from the Chicago Bulls' 1996 playoff run that put a stamp on the most dominant season in NBA history. The team finished the regular season with a record 72 wins and won the franchise's 4th championship after knocking off the Seattle Supersonics in the Finals. The 6'8" small forward averaged 19 points 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the regular season while typically being tasked with guarding the opposing team's best player. With just 10 losses on the season heading into the playoffs the Bulls had little resistance in the postseason. They lost just one game the first three series leading into the Finals against Seattle. All told they went a combined 87-13 after a 15-3 postseason. Pippen averages 17 points 8.5 rebounds and 6 assists and 2.6 steals during the playoffs.

The black Nike Airs come in size 15.5 and have the word "AIR" spelled out in a large panel pattern on each side. He wore a similar design for the 1996 Atlanta Olympics later that summer as a member of "Dream Team III" only those were white and blue (see Lot 739). The interior tagging is labeled "960112 FTPS" denoting they were manufactured 1/12/96 for player use only. Pippen has signed each shoe with his No. "33" in a lovely 9/10 shiny silver that really pops on the black suede-like exterior. Even wear displayed inside and out. Original black laces intact. Insoles have been removed most likely for a customized orthotic insert. Overall the pair presents in excellent shape and come essentially as-issued. The consignor is a Chicago area detailer who worked on several Bulls players' cars in the 1990's including Pippen. He acquired these shoes as a gift for his services. While the exact game Pippen wore this pair is unknown images on Getty show him wearing this exact style the entire '96 postseason including the Finals. Also included are a pair of Pippen's white socks game-worn but laundered thankfully.

Letter of Provenance from consignor. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
