Considered one of the greatest centers of all time, Hakeem Olajuwon led the Houston Rockets to back-to-back NBA titles in 1994 and ’95. His patented “Dream Shake” is a move that no player has ever been able to replicate, even in the present era of mobile bigs. Featured here is a 1996-97 game-worn and signed Rockets road uniform donned by the 7-foot Nigerian. At 34 years old, Hakeem averaged 23.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and three blocks in his final All-Star campaign, leading 57-25 Houston to the Western Conference Finals. In 1997, he was selected as one of the NBA’s 50 Greatest Players and finished his Hall of Fame career as the all-time leader in blocked shots with 3,830 (still leads by over 500).
The navy blue pinstriped jersey bears the appropriate Champions/Rockets dual tagging on the front left tail indicating “96/97” season, Size 48 and Body Length +3. The Rockets team logo appears across the chest with Olajuwon's famed No. “34” front and back in white/silver outlined in red. His NOB is arched across the upper back in white on red tackle twill. Hakeem has autographed the back '4' in 9/10 black marker.
The matching pair of Rockets road trunks tagged by Champion in the inner waistband come in size 38 with a proper team label size indicating an extra 2" rise and inseam, Hakeem's No. "34" is marked in black (presumably by the equip. manager) on the size label. A flag tag further down the rear reads "1996-97",
Both items show moderate wear and were sourced from a local Houston collector. Includes MEARS LOA (graded A5 due to being post-1992 without a signed letter of provenance). Autograph is sticker certified by PSA/DNA.
